I rely on overcast every day to manage and play all of my podcasts. It is rock solid.

The smart speed and voice boost are amazing! Other recent improvements like dark mode are really great too. Streaming was a feature I really wanted and I am very excited to now have it! Now if only I could choose download or stream as a per podcast option...

Everything I want in a podcast app.

Ran into a problem of auto downloading latest episode from all of my subscribed podcasts. That bloated my phone with GBs of unwanted recordings. Had to reinstall. Other than that, this player can compete with the best paid apps. Very easy import / export of subscriptions from Pocket Catcher and even better alphabetizing. Variable speed works well enough. Looking forward to more updates to possibly make this best player out there. If youre still using Stitcher or iTunes, this is a must download for you.

Love the recommendations. Love the ability to create "curated" playlists through the inclusion/exclusion features that let me get really granular - and have those playlists sync from iPhone to iPad. I used to use the "on the go" playlist on the default app to do something similar, but that was the one playlist that wouldnt sync, and the latest update seems to have depreciated even that one handy feature from what I can tell. Couldnt care less about streaming - dont really understand why everyone wants to eat up all of their data (and as a frequent underground subway rider, I always download my episodes as a practical necessity anyway). Would love some additional tools to make curation easier, but Ive already submitted those thoughts through the feedback tool, so I wont repeat them here. A desktop app would also be lovely, but as a nice to have, not a must.

This app is the only way to go if you are an avid podcast listener!

When I first started listening to podcasts, I used apples podcast app and I did not like it at all. So I looked around for another free option and came across Overcast and have never looked back. I love the no ads and the "smart speed" setting which shortens silences. Also like how variable the playback speed setting is - there are 6 set points between 1x and 2x, and how it remembers my speed setting for each podcast I subscribe to. Try it, you will love it!!

Exactly the app for those who want control and simplicity in perfect balance. Not just a great podcast app — a great app, period.

I listen to a lot of podcasts and wouldnt be able to without the advanced speed controls. Best podcasting app Ive used to date.

This is opinionated software, and I agree with it. The playback interface is superb, and makes for very easy control whether Im on the move or my car is. Smart Speed is great, and is so well done I dont notice it — except that its saved me 51 hours of listening time! Not sure whether that makes it an incredibly valuable feature or a priceless one. Either way, I love it.

The description in this app states that it has a simplified UI. Making big buttons, a new set of conventions to learn and a bunch of white space on the screen does not mean simplify. This app works and does most of what the majority of podcast apps do with the exception of video. I wouldnt hold it to the genius acclaim as a lot of the reviewers do. I am a supporter of the podcast but I wouldnt give this app 5 stars based on that.

Weird but it feels like my virtual place to learn. It is solid, friendly and intuitive. I recommend Overcast all the time!

Ive tried almost every podcast app known to man and Overcast is by far the best.

This is one of the best podcast players available. It has a great feature set and its playback speed settings are the best! My only complaint is that the CarPlay integration is not the best.

Open it up, doesnt work. Sits there on the podcast page forever on pause and does not ever begin to play. Another project dropped by Marco after bilking his users. Nice.

Features like voice boost and smart speed makes a good difference for my talk based podcasts. An underrated feature I absolutely love is the possibility to listen to my podcasts online on my laptop - its synchronized.
