Nags for an email address, and then for a donation for its self-absorbed developer. Once you get past that, its unstable and the watch app is laggy. Also, whats with the weird fonts?

30 second skip lets you speed past ads. 1.2x speed lets you go through more podcasts. No glitches or bugs. Great for catching up on public radio shows.

Easy, does what it says it will. True pay only if you like it. Only recommendation is to pause playing when waze is talking. Minor as you can tap the rewind button.

Do not update to latest version. This update has broken the app completely. Could not open app as it just crashed immediately. So I uninstalled and re-installed. Now app opens but I am forced to re-download all my podcasts, from scratch! And whats worse is that now nothing will download! Im in a perpetual state of "Waiting to Download". Avoid this update at all costs.

I have never written a review before. However, this app has so drastically changed my life I feel obligated to sing its praises. I love it and use it every day, without fail. Awesome! UPDATE: this is my most used app on my phone. I have saved hundreds of hours with its smart skip feature. A must have!

If you get sick of using the included apple podcast because it crashes or it has audio issues Then Id suggest using this suite sweet of pod magick! The search engine hasnt met a podcast it didnt kmow yet. The easy build a list feature is nice way to declutter and have your faves a botton press away. The audio and speed saving features are prob the best distinction I can make to other podable apps. However I still wish there was a sound option to play in speaker mode as I dont always want to use headphone and it be appreciated as Apple iPhone seem to have audio trouble despite have speakers in 2 locations. Finally I think id make donation if I could use themes without having to pay extra. Im prob a minor voice but I am more apt to support a developer who shows his best work and then has option than this trial vs real app that is used in industry. Also having the import button simply say "open another app and export" isnt what I was looking for however this might be a apple software issue. What be nice if you could export to website that list rss or url and you could manually add or subtract rss or urls to the site then app would just update to current list by dl from that site. I am ob not programmer so dont know if that actually what is happened but import button seems waste space Otherwise its podtastique!

Ive used several other podcast clients, but none of them worked as reliably or seamlessly as Overcast. Stop dealing with the native Podcast apps shortcomings, switch to Overcast.

The app is great, however after supporting the app by buying it and recommending it to friends I find even after purchasing the app when it first came out so that everything was unlocked I now have to pay again to unlock newer features. I understand its optional, but I think its a very shady and underhanded and will be moving on to other podcasts apps.

This is the best way to listen to podcasts.

Overcast is an excellent podcast player. SmartSpeed alone makes it worthwhile. Now that it is free, theres no barrier to entry. Subscriptions update seamlessly. Highly recommended.

Really good app that works better than all other podcast apps

No clue how to fix this, none of my podcasts are downloading, only ever "waiting to download." Going back to native app, unfortunately.

I was perfectly content with Apples podcast app and especially liked that I could pick up on my iMac where I left off on my iPhone. Cant do that with Overcast but the other features like smart speed make it worth it. 5 stars all day. 6 stars for a Mac app. Please!

This is definitely the podcast app of choice! I am a heavy podcast listener and have been for many years now. Ive tried many podcast apps as well and love this one! Pleasant UI, easy to understand controls and excellent intelligent features! I like the "getting rid of silent pauses" between words and sentences and the way you can back up your settings and subscriptions. It has a nice scrolling UI and while listening to podcasts you can see all the published links with the episode and follow along or view them later. Highly recommend this one!

Couldnt take Downcast anymore, so I came over here to Overcast and I dont regret it for a minute. I love this app, love its deceptive simplicity, love its clean UI. Overall great experience. As for the patronage subscription model - I dont mind at all. I want to encourage a developer of this caliber, and the fee is the equivalent of three or four mornings at Starbucks. Sorry if some of the children writing reviews cant afford that (maybe get a job that pays above minimum wage?) Quality isnt free. This is a Quality app.

Everyone knows how great this app is so let me explain the "except": the player controls are shrunk at the bottom and its hard to make them larger. I only use the app in my car and get distracted when I struggle with this. Also I wish the developer would simply charge for this and not ask for people to be "patrons". He says he decided to not provide a dumbed-down free version. Lets face it, people who have iPhones and pay for cellular service are not poor. If he needs money for operations - which is absolutely fair - just charge for the darn thing.

This is a simple, intuitive, useful podcast app. Perfect for my needs.
